Scott's Antique Finds and Wow Us Wednesday #7

A couple of weekends ago I went back to Scott's Antique Market in Atlanta. Now most of the things in this huge place are priced way over what I have in my pockets, but I did find a couple of small things perfect for my equestrian room again. One was real cheap and the other was a bit of a splurge, but I loved it and had to have it.

This is my cheap find. I love the scene on this little pitcher and just look at the curve on that handle.

The lady who had this in her booth was packing up and the asking price was $12 and she sold it to me for $10. Every dollar counts these days.

This was the splurge. This wonderful super soft pillow with this dog toile print on the front. The lady that runs this booth almost missed this sale because for some reason she is never in her booth to tell you how much anything is. I went back three times and the lady in the booth next to hers was basically running this booth for the missing owner, but she didn't know the price of this one so I waited.

I just knew it would be perfect in my sitting room with the equestrian theme.

This is the mark on the bottom of the pitcher. Anyone recognize it?

When I brought my new little pillow home I started moving all the pillows around on this red sofa
trying to make it work here. Tell me you do that, too. I had two other equestrian needlepoint pillows here and added it and it just didn't work. Hate when that happens. After rearranging these pillows on this sofa a gazillion times I remembered the multiple patterned pillow from my sun room and then the monogrammed pillow placed in front was finally looking right to me. Oh, but wait....

......then this pillow that I had popped into my head. That happens a lot you know. I thought the monogrammed red plaid would be cute, too.

And the finished look, I think. Are we ever finished? Not me! I see my assistant popped in this photo.
I know you are probably tired of seeing this room, but I am always tweaking this or that. I saw several tole tray tables for sale at Scott's, but out of the price range I want to pay. Still on the hunt for that.

This really wasn't much of a wow, but I have been gone all day and had this post ready so I will just let y'all wow us this week. Kitchen or bedroom reveal will come soon. Haven't had time to take pictures yet.

Party guidelines:
1. Link your intended post URL and not your whole blog.
2. Please link back to the party in your post so others can easily find it and join in if they want. Party links here or on my sidebar does not work.
3. If you find your link deleted then there was no link back to the party. Just add the link and try again.
4. Try to visit a few participants. You will surely be inspired by all the creativity out there and may find a new blog to follow or a new recipe or project to try.

I hope you will become a follower here if you are new.

Now Wow Us!

So funny that you posted this today. I was googling Scott Antiques Market a few hours ago, and wondering if it was worth the trip. I love your finds!

Kim, I love the "cheap" and the "splurge". The green is lovely, I do have a bit of green and white myself, sooo very English! The marking reminds me of Nikko, but not quite. Can you believe I made it to your party??? Yeah! xoxo tami

Kim, I am so happy to be participating in WOW! I love your antique finds! I would have wanted those too! Each one is really perfect for you horse inspired room. That pillow was worth 3 trips. It is so unique!

I often sit looking at the things I want to decorate and soak it in before I move it around, so I know about finding the "just right" look!

Beautiful and well styled. And NO we are never done decorating!

Lucky you to get to go to Scott's! What great treasures you found. Maybe one day I can make the trip. Thanks for hosting the party Kim.

I love both your finds...the splurge and the pitcher. Why don't you pick up an old tray and buy a tole pattern, trace it on the tray, and paint it yourself? You are certainly talented enough to try it! You can find the pattern in one of the decorative artist's books where they sell painting supplies... Just a thought- xxoo Diana

This looks like a big WOW to me. The pitcher is beautiful and the pillow fits in so well. When I bring something new home (to keep, not sell) I sometimes end up re-arranging ten other things just to fit one in that perfect spot.

Kim, I love the pillow..don't blame you for waiting around for the vendor.. and the pitcher/jug is so pretty. Of course green is my favorite color. I do hope you don't ever stop decorating with the equestrian theme. It looks so good in that room. Or if you tire of it and decide to have a yard sale, please let me know. :)

I'm totally Wowed Kim! Looks beautiful!

No projects or tweeking for me at all right now. Long weekend last week and leaving again tomorrow to go to my step-mother's. She has finally agreed to go to a retirement home. I will be there again for a long 4 day weekend. Her apartment is large & she is able to take quite a bit with her, but there is so much packing and such to get ready for the move, then we will have to get her home ready to sell. She live about 275 miles from me so it makes the job even bigger. Thanks for letting me ramble. I should probably put this in a post.

Thanks Kim for your lovely comments, I haven't changed blogs completly... I've just been neglecting my family blog. So much has happened in the last two months. Orsen has broken his leg {chipped his tibia and may need surgery}, burnt his face, fell over and hurt his shoulder and needed stitches to his toe.
He wins the clumsy husband of the year award!
Anyway, I'll be back posting on my family blog tomorrow. I have 2 companies sending me products to review... cheese sticks and hot cross buns, yummy! So I'd better catch up quick before they arrive.

Kim, I'm finally getting a chance to read all of your wonderful posts from the last few days. I love your new pitcher, and it was a bargain at only $10! I'm always rearranging pillows too it seems and I realized the other day that I have one pillow that is still in the plastic wrap that it came in! Sometimes you just have to splurge. I am very aware of the money I spend on our house and am usually very frugal. I make sure that what I buy is something I LOVE. Having said that, if I see something I fall in love with I buy it...even if it's more than I usually pay. It's those pieces that make the rooms happier and more ME. :) I love that pitcher. That was a great deal!

I'm a newbie with antiques but I'm enjoying it so much! I'm also loving going to flea markets. Last Sunday I found a really cute cottage style blue chair and a mirror. All for $12,00! I felt really happy because I'm redecorating my mudroom for Spring/Summer and I want it to be very "shabby-chic". How can I go wrong with a chair and a mirror for that much? They're adorable! Besides, my husband loved the price too! ;-)

Great party, Kim! So many beautiful things here!!!

I hope you're having a great day!

Hi Kim,
Love your new pitcher and pretty pillow.
You are so right our SIL's are not paid squat compared to the northern state law enforcement agency.
In Boston they could make up to 150,ooo compared to 30 some here.
BTW...I'm on my way to Emory right now. Do you live anywhere near there?
It would be nice to meet sometime in the future. Just a thought.
Enjoy your day!

Sigh. I love the red, Kim.
I will keep touches of red, but I am ever so slowly and sadly neutralizing the reds in our home since I am staging it to sell. The red front door color was the first to go (Roses are Red, Front Doors are Blue :), so that when I drive up to the house I am reminded that I wanna move into an old cottage downtown, and that I have to depersonalize this one somewhat :)
I love these parties--SO MANY GREAT IDEAS!
I actually make a cup of Earl Gray tea and a 100 calorie bag of Orville R. (you think I'm gonna try and spell his last name? Uh, no.) and read through the posts that catch my eye. I learn so much!
Thank you for hosting--I brought Bailey some treats for being such a good host.
