Your Guest Room is Waiting

Last weekend our son, daughter in law and grandchildren came for a visit. We had a family Christmas party to go to on Saturday so it was nice that our son and family could be here for it. The two girls stayed in the green guest room that I shared here a couple of weeks ago. Rachele is three and was able to sleep in the BIG bed. She was so excited. Naomi who is twenty one months slept in the crib.

Joshua, who is five weeks old, stayed in the same room as mom and dad in a pack n play.
I had the guest room all ready for them with some new flannel sheets and a few Christmas decorations.

I removed the gobs of pillows and just added back this plaid quilted one for a simple country look.

I recently bought the same flannel sheets for this bed like we have in the master bedroom. I bought the red ticking sheets and blue ticking pillow cases. The pick stitch quilt is from the Pottery Barn outlet.

Y'all these are the softest cuddliest sheets ev ah! The red quilted velvet shams are also from PB outlet last year that my daughter bought to sell on ebay, but they didn't so she gave them to me.

I put a tiny tree in here and just added the lifesaver rings on it that I made several months ago out of curtain rings. I couldn't find the old post, but all I did was paint white and red on them to make them look like a lifesaver.

I set the tree on this old pulley.

Decorative sled given to me a few years ago by a friend sits on top of the armoire.

Old torn and tattered quilt made by Mr. Savvy's mother is ready to grab if needed for an extra layer.

Oh, and did you notice the new red drapes? They are blackout panels and came from overstock.com for a very reasonable price. This room is pitch black at night with those closed. I love how the red ones pop in here.

Well, no guests this year for Christmas so come and stay a while.

If anyone is interested in the sheets they are from L.L. Bean.

The room looks so cozy, and the bed is perfect. You have such an eye for details. I meant to ask you before and I forgot ~ I would love to put my hubby's navy uniform in a shadow box like you did. Did you have it cleaned first? I'm afraid it might fall apart if I do that. Our hubby's were in the Navy at the same time. Mine was on a destroyer.

Kim, thanks for stopping by. I highly recommend checking out the camera. I NEVER use my SLR anymore and never have to drag out the tripod as the lens opening on this camera allows in so much light. It also provides great wide angle shots without distortion. The only other item I like as much as my new camera is my Apple MacBook Pro I got for Christmas last year.
Have a wonderful holiday.
