Chair Redo Redo

How are y'all doing? Sorry I haven't been able to visit your blogs much this week. As most of you know silly me has more than one major project going at a time. Good news is that the sunroom is almost finished and I love it. The powder room is coming slowly. Mr. Savvy has had to mud and sand and mud and sand over and over to fix the holes that were made from raising the light. Now I am getting ready to start the first coat of paint in there. After I clean all the dust up, that is.

So I haven't had time to take lovely pictures around here of anything because this house is such a MESS that there really isn't anything to take pictures of. I do already have pictures of a chair redo in my bedroom that I haven't shown y'all yet. This is another redo of a redo because that is what I do. I did this a few weeks ago. I thought I was going to completely change the color of the chair from a distressed white to Providence by ASCP, but the blue was just too much in my bedroom. I know I told y'all I would share the changes in the master and I promise it is coming soon. Oh, too many things going at one time!

This is the chair that sits in front of the chest next to the bed. I didn't have time to find a before picture of it, but if you remember it was an off white and distressed and glazed.

Originally this chair was a golden maple stain color, but was not in the best of shape so I painted it white. Here you can see where I had painted Provence chalk paint on, but then to lighten it up I just simple did a dry brush technique over it with Old White.

I love the way it turned out even though it was accidentally.

I did not do any sanding this time or waxing. I love the flat finish for now.

All these pictures were taken late one afternoon. I loved the way the sun was hitting on the chair.

Well, I better get back to work. It isn't going to get done by itself.

Kim- Love the chair -the color is great-and can't wait to see that room WHEN you get to it. Seriously, I think you should hire yourself a permanent helper around the house to work on projects. Just make sure he is good looking and can give a great massage at the end of a long workday!;>) xoo Diana

Kim, the chair looks super. I love the pillow also. Making major changes really does create a huge mess doesn't it. Can't wait to see it all done. Hugs, Marty

The chair looks beautiful Kim.

Our guys are here working in the basement. It is 15 degrees and the snow is blowing like crazy. They just now decided to move the saw from the patio to the garage. I don't see how they can work outside.

There is a stinky primer on the book cases, as I type, but it is really going to be great. J did all the filling of nail holes and sanding and they are doing the painting. I have to keep an eye on him or he will be moving something and he must not move or lift until after he sees his doctor next week and maybe not then. What a time to start a project, but I think it will pay off and we will enjoy the room.

Can't wait to see your powder room, I know it will be beautiful.

Love the way your chair turned out Kim! I know how you feel with drywall dust and such; we were remodeling our house starting at this time last year. It's been a busy year, so I haven't blogged as much, but enjoying catching up and posting again. Happy New Year, and can't wait to see what you have done.

I LOVE that chair. I've been looking for an antique looking chair for the desk in my craft room but haven't had any luck. Here in Calgary, AB., where I live it seems if you want something antique you pay an arm and a leg for it.

I'm a new follower by the way and would like to invite you to link to my linky at: http://www.eyeheart.ca/2012/01/anything-goes-at-eye-heart-8.html

Have a wonderful day and good luck with the renos.
