Are you ready? I hope I am. I am so nervous about hosting this party. I hope Mr. Linky doesn't give me any problems. I hope you will bear with me if it does. I am so excited to get this party started so let's get to it.
First let me show you what I worked on last week while it was raining outside. It's not a painted piece of furniture. I am sure most of you thought that is what I would have worked on. Not this time, but there will be one soon.
Let me show you the before shot first. This is my bookcase before I changed the color of the back of it. It was a very dark brown and it had gotten quite scuffed up over time.
Here is the new fresh color. Yes, I painted it green. I used Sherwin Williams Edamame that I already had on hand and it is just a sample jar for less than $5.
I love to add layers when creating vignettes.
Brought this in from the kitchen and added a fern to soften the space.
It only took me one day to do the whole paint job.
Now show me whatcha got! Just be sure and link your before and after post and not just your blog.
Please add my link in your post or you can copy my logo button on my side bar and place it in your post. Just make sure everyone can link to my blog. I would love for you to add yourself as a follower if you haven't already.
I appreciate your comments, too and will do my best to comment on your posts.
I hope you will take some time and visit some of the other participants.
Now let's fun !!

The green is gorgeous. It really does make such a change to lighten up the backs of a bookcase. Your displays are beautiful. Good luck on your first party. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI think that is my new favorite color! I've been thinking about doing something with the back of my brown bookcases. But paint + me= disaster. So I was thinking more along the lines of wallpaper or decoupage. Love it!

ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteThank you for launching your B & A party. It inspired me post my first before and after to it.
I was catching up with your previous posts and I love all of your befores and afters.
But I especially love the green background on your bookcase, probably because green is my favorite color. And all of your things do pop against it.
Come by and see my first project!
Sheila
I love it! You are such a tease though, did you do both sides? I want to see a long shot! Green is one of my favorite colors, this shade is wonderful and your stuff does looks so great with this color! When are you gonna finish? LOL!
ReplyDeleteYes, Mary I did both sides, The color does not show from a distance so I didn't show that. Most of the vignettes I showed are the other side.
ReplyDeleteYou are doing a great job hosting. I did not get a chance to look back at previous posts for something to contribute, and have not completed anything recently around my home - to busy playing and working on jewelry. Hope to next week.
