We had our first family Christmas get together today at Mr. Savvy's sister's and had lots of good food and fellowship. That is what Christmas is all about. Getting to see family and friends that we may not have seen since this time last year and getting caught up on what is going on in their lives. Still seeing and hearing so many negatives with the economy, but we put that aside and had a good time.
This is my tall slim tree in the sitting room. Brooke calls it my anorexic tree.
This tree is not pre-lit so I have to put all the lights on myself.
Added more fresh greenery to my champagne bucket and placed a cardinal on a pincone under the cloche with some crystals and antlers thrown on the tray.
Did this tree in white, green, gold and pewter.
Enjoy your evening. It is very cold and windy here. Didn't get out of the twenties.
Not sure I'm in the south anymore!

Beautiful Kim. Love your skinny tree. Great for high ceilings. I love the mix of the earthy antlers and pine cones with the silver bucket. Mine is stuffed with greens too.

Room looks great, Kim! I especially love the silver pitcher on the bookshelf with the greenery. I have some gold pinecones on my tree that resemble yours. I found them a few yrs ago at Target, and when I went back for more they were gone. I've used more pinecones this year than ever after seeing them all over blogland. Look forward to your pics every day!
ReplyDeleteIt all looks so beautiful and festive! I especially love the pewter pitcher with the greenery in it!
ReplyDeleteMore beautifulness, Kimmie! Your skinny tree is really very beautiful! Love how it's themed with your colors. The bucket is gorgeous as well as everything else. You just amaze me! ;)
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
The cold wind is howling here already and the temperature is dropping! YUK!
ReplyDeleteI still covet that champagne bucket! I used to not like the "skinny" trees, but I LOVE them now! And, yours looks particularly attractive!
Glad you enjoyed this family gathering. I agree, getting together with loved ones is the best part of the season!
Kim- What a great looking room! I love your anorexic tree! It is beautifully decorated...and I love all the whites on there.
ReplyDeleteI lost TWO trees when we moved time before last...now I don't know how that was possible but the moving company stored our stuff for 3 months (over Decemeber) and I never missed them until the next year...hmmmmm..
I love the greens in your champagne bucket. It is a nice touch and makes everything even more Christmasy.
Would you like me to send you a bit of snow to throw around on your beautiful Southern lawn? We are right in the middle of a huge blizzard here. They are predicting up to 15 inches of snow. Great...can't wait...(she said very sarcastically) Hugs-Diana
Your tree is very beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
Happy Holidays!

I love your beautiful tree, Kim, and the silverplate pitcher with greenery is my favorite...such an unusual shape!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks wonderful Kim! Your tree, even though it is anorexic is just beautiful! Love how you decorated it. The greens in the wine bucket look perfect!
ReplyDeleteThat tree isn't anorexic! It is gorgeous! I love those slim trees. I also love the greens you have around. It just makes it so festive!
ReplyDeleteKim, I love your beautiful home. It is especially beautiful decked out for Christmas. I am just trying to get a little visiting done before calling it a night. It is getting cold here as well.
ReplyDeleteI meant to tell you earlier, I used to visit Buford often in my youth. A long time ago!! My Grandparents lived and farmed there when it was way out in the country. We lived in Atlanta and sometimes rode the train back and forth from Buford and Atlanta. I know that sounds strange but true. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Hugs, Ginger
Beautiful silver Kim, I don't think I've noticed it before so that was a surprise, I like surprises at Christmas
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Kim... you sure know how to make beauty in your home for every season.. I adore that ballet slipper ornament.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays
Sonny
Cold here too, but looks warm and cozy in your room! I almost bought some burlap ribbon yesterday at Michaels! Might have to go back.
ReplyDeleteLove it all, Kim. The sick tree it beautiful, lol. I LOVE your red sofa!
ReplyDeleteI have that same Champagne bucket, what a great idea to put greenery in it, and I love the added burlap. Your tree looks lovely, as does it all :)

Lovely! From the cardinal under the cloche ... the fresh greens ... the traditional bells and your stunning tree ... as usual, it's beautiful! *Becca*
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, Your front skinny tree looks fabulous! I love all the fresh greenery too I scattered about. It is all looking so festive!
ReplyDeleteI have a stream line tree too - I think it very classy and your home is picture perfect!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great Kim. I want to bring some fresh greenery inside, but it's been either too cold, too rainy or too dreary to get outside and look.
ReplyDeleteI love your tall skinny tree. Even if you DO have to put the lights on. I used to have trees that I put lights on and would spend days getting them on..then get it all decorated and....half the lights would go out. ONLY after it was fully decorated, ya know!! Murphy's Law !
ReplyDeleteI like your use of burlap and...gulp....antlers and still making it look Christmasy.
I keep looking at this HUGE antler Mr. Sweet brought in..I might try something with it for a post...might!
Your room is just beautiful.
