I am still brightening things up around here and decided I was not liking the blue gray color I had on this table. I am preferring the clean look of white. You can see the before picture here.
The glaze I had added to the blue gray color was looking dirty to me. I may distress this table, but haven't decided yet.
For now it will just be white.
The white looks so fresh up against the brown walls in my master bedroom.
Have y'all seen the new burlap lamp shades at Pottery Barn? I am thinking about getting those.
I love the addition of this white iron bowl filled with moss and a fern.
Family photos finish out the vignette.
I still am changing some things in the master. I want to paint the other nightstand white and possibly
the armoire on the other side of the room. That will leave the bed and my dresser brown so I will have a mix.
Now I want to see what you have been up to this week.

ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Love those precious photos, too. And if you want to DIY those lampshades I'll walk you through it. Have done about a zillion of them, for my shop, myself, and still do them custom for a few designers. It's super easy!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it fun to lighten and brighten?! I just ordered white slipcovers ... fun(!), but the wrinkles I faced when I opened the package were NOT so fun ... neither was steaming them out! Your "new" white table looks wonderful against your beautiful brown walls! If you have a Tuesday Morning near by, you may want to run over. I just bought a lamp with a burlap shade (with French writing on it) for $19.99. They're going fast! Have a great night and thanks for hosting! Becca
ReplyDeleteDoes look super fresh Kim! Thanks for hosting, I better go add you link now.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, Now with the weather warming up I wanting to paint everything white. The table looks wonderful and I love the pillow and your vignette. Beautiful!

ReplyDeleteMy little four year old woke up Sunday and looked outside and said, "Look! Snow, mommy!"
I asked where and what, and she said it was a little bit on the tree. We live north of Atlanta. She was pointing at the Bradford Pear! ;)
We are into white this week, so thanks for hostessing, and I'm off to browse.
Trena

ReplyDeleteNancy
I love that white table! Thanks for hosting, such great projects linked up here.
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting this wonderful party! I can never decide if I should distress something or not, here I go painting it and getting it perfect and then I go and mess it up. When I can't decided I compromise and do just a little distressing. I think I like your table just the way it is. I was surprised to hear you say you thought the glazing on the old table looked dirty, that is exactly why I do very little glazing, I think sometimes it looks dirty!
ReplyDeleteCarol
I think the table looks great, Kim. I'm all for the shabby look, but you have to be sure, once you distress it you are stuck with it unless you decide to repaint it. Love the vignette on it. The fern adds a nice touch and the family pictures are so cute.
ReplyDeleteWow, you have a lot of participants this week. I need to start joining some parties! This one looks fun!
XO,
Jane

You crack me up...aren't you tired of painting :) I wanted to go through all of the people who have linked up but I will wait for you to tell me your favorites. I have so much work to do right now and I need to back away from the computer :)
ReplyDeleteThought I was never going to reach the end of the entrants to leave a comment! It looks so pretty white. I love the burlap. But find it makes me sneeze!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
I love the clean crisp white! Sometimes simple is best.
ReplyDeleteJust wondering -- Does your husband "get" your style? It took awhile for my husband to understand and like the distressing but when I glaze something, forget it! It's always the same look on his face and response, "looks like it needs another coat!" He just doesn't get it!
