I shared this stool a few weeks ago with you. I found this at a flea market for only $8. I knew I could spiffy it up so it came home with me along with another stool that is still sitting in the garage.
This shows the original pine wood and how worn the seat was.
I painted the whole stool with my Old Violet chalk paint and then painted over the seat with the Old White chalk paint.
I sanded it heavily and then waxed with clear and brown waxes.
I love the way this finish turned out.
Here is a look at the legs.
This close up of the pitcher is for Penny. She commented on the one I used when I styled my sister's front porch and I wanted her to see what it looks like without the burlap tied around it.
This is where the stool sits in the kitchen.
Now I need to get back to making this house somewhat presentable for Debbie's visit this Friday.
You guys are so smart. Many of you guessed correctly. I am so glad that I will finally meet her in person.
Now I want to see your wows this week! You can link any project, recipe, craft, makeovers, etc. I really need to limit you to two links please. I appreciate the links, but two per person is plenty.
Party guidelines:
Link your intended post and not your whole blog.
ATTENTION: To link up with inlinkz you must have a permalink back to this party post in your blog post or it will not allow you to link till you do. If you find your link deleted then I didn't see a link in your post back to this party. Just add it in and try again. It's only fair that you are getting traffic from my blog and I would appreciate it from your blog, too.

ReplyDeleteNancy
Love how your stool turned out Kim!
ReplyDeleteI've been contemplating getting some chalk paint but can't decide on a color. I have a few pieces I'd really love to try it on.
I can't remember if you tried the sample size I think its 1Litre pots?
Would you think that is enough to test on a small project ?
Thanks
Michele
Michelle, I have never had any sample pots. I just have the quarts. I am sure a sample size would be plenty for a small project. It may even be enough for a larger project. This paint goes a very long way. I did two chests and the mantel and the two bookcases with one quart and had some left over.
ReplyDeleteI loved how you aged the stool.
ReplyDeleteDee
I swear woman! Everything you touch is just money!
ReplyDeleteI love how your stool now matches the purple flowers on your Anthropologie towel! Cute!

ReplyDeleteKim, where did you find that pitcher?

ReplyDeleteIt still amazes (and delights) me how you can take a simple, wooden stool and turn it into a work of art. Just love it.
