Navy Shirt Framed and Wow Us Wednesdays 19

6.15.2011

Welcome to Wow Us Wednesdays #19. I finished working on the shadow box and Navy shirt project.


It is really hard to get a good shot of this without reflections and glare. I need to get some non glare glass.

I painted the frame with chalk paint in Old White and then distressed it and waxed with clear wax.



This shows the piece inside that the shirt attaches too. I love how it has a linen look. This was gray and I painted it with the chalk paint, too.

Here it is all pinned in place by Mr. Savvy. He is better at that than me.

Now it just needs to be hung where it is going.

Next week the  wow us Wednesday party will be for summer deck, porches, patio links only for the big summer blog party. They can be old or new posts. All the info is on my sidebar.  More info HERE!

Isn't it cute. It is a lantern made from a bait bucket by Farmhouse Wares.

    The shadow box is lovely, Kim, and a wonderful memory to have too. You might consider a sticker on the back noting that it was worn by hubby for history sake.

    Great way to keep this and showcase it. I used a shadow box to spotlight the tiny wooden getas and chopsticks that my husband wore and used as a toddler in Japan. Much better than pushing them away in a drawer or closet. ~ Sarah

    I love sailor shirts I remember when I was a little girl I had a dress made with the big sailor colar and I loved it . I was 5th grade. The dress was navy with white trim

    You did as always a great job putting it in your frame

    Hi Kim, I was looking forward to seeing the results of the shadowbox project and I love it. It looks very old fashioned, like something I would have seen in my great aunt's big old home. I just love it. Hung in a room with a big brass bed piled high with quilts. And a hand tatted lace tablecloth over the desk. For some reason I couldn't link to the party today. I've never had a problem before. Oh well, I'll try next week. :) ~diane
