Still hundreds of buds just waiting to open up.
This bush along with the rest of my yard is very happy after getting some much needed rain last night.
So glad the Mr. and I got the yard cut before the storm blew in. We finished in the nick of time. I was doing it by myself, but had to get him to help when I saw the sky getting darker and darker. He rolled his eyes when I had to drag him away from working in his garage. Men!
I have to remind him that he is lucky I like to do the yard.
Hope you have a great day!
Kim

your bush is beautiful Kim. my neighbor has purple bush full of blooms too. thank goodness we got some much needed rain last night.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots Kim. Yes Mr. is lucky you do the yard,it is a lot of yard to do.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Rose of Sharon. We had these at the farm. I think we should have some now, too.
ReplyDeleteI love the Rose of Sharon. Mine are just starting to bloom to. I had to spray them twice with “Seven” to keep the beetles off. Last year those darn bugs ate ALL the leaves off.
ReplyDeletelOve them! They were one of my mom's favorites and they have 6 or so bushes lining the deck. Gorgeous when the are in bloom! t.xooxox
ReplyDeleteYour rose bush is beautiful, Kim. We did the same thing yesterday. I love to cut the grass...provided it isn't 100 degrees. I prefer to use my push mower because it gives a prettier cut than our riding mower. My husband edges and blows off everthing and I cut. It's a great team effort! Also, threw on a little nitrogen before the rain hit to green up our poor grass. Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteKim love the white, I have a purple one that had to be cut this spring so I won't get any flowers this year,So thanks for sharing yours

Gorgeous photos! I love Rose of Sharon--it reminds me of my childhood. We didn't have many crepe myrtles where I grew up, but there was Rose of Sharon everywhere. And I always loved singing "Jesus, Rose of Sharon" at church. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Kim! Rose of Sharon are pretty amazing when the whole bush is in bloom!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful rose of sharon Kim! Martina
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful. The blooms are so white they don't look real. Wish we could get some summer rain and give the sprinklers a break.
ReplyDeleteAt least your husband is home. Mine is at the Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green!!
ReplyDeleteKim, love the flowers... Rose of Sharon... That is a new one for me thanks for showing it to us! I don't do yard work much (I should for the exercise) my son likes to do the mowing on the riding tractor which is great for my hubby.
ReplyDeleteYour Rose of Sharon is lovely. I miss not having one in our garden in this home. They are great bloomers!
ReplyDeleteLucky you to get some rain. ~ Sarah
Your photos are just beautiful! What pretty flowers.

They're so pretty! We had some rain last week but with the close to 100 degree days we desperately need more!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Did you bring some blooms in to enjoy on your lovely table??
ReplyDeleteThey look like the hybiscus bushes we have in Florida! Lovely.
ReplyDeleteThat rose of sharon is beautiful. We have one tucked in the back that never fails to bloom like crazy. I just wish it was a better cut flower so that I could enjoy it inside, too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Rose of Sharon...and full of buds! Yep...your hubby is lucky. Mine was too for years and now that he has more time than I do he is mowing the grass for the first time ever in our married life. It's good for him! That's MY story!
ReplyDeleteI have a particular affection for the Rose of Sharon. My mom planted one in honour of my birth (my name being Sharon) and I remember always proudly going to show visitors my special plant! X Sharon
ReplyDeleteMorning Kim,
ReplyDeleteLove your bush..I have a lavender Rose of Sharon, which I have to be careful around because a growing family of Grey Catbirds are nesting. They are too cute and really do sound like a cat meowing.
Mine also is covered with a gazillion buds and sits outside my kitchen sink window. Gives me a lovely view for weeks.
Happy to know I am not the only wife mowing the lawn..3 acres here!!
Have a great weekend and Happy Father's Day (if it applies) to Mr.SSS

Rose of Sharon is such a beautiful old fashioned small tree. Wish I had one. My neighbor does. I wonder if the tree puts out shoots that I could dig up. I'll have to check on that. Have a wonderful and fun weekend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post, Kim. Rose of Sharon is one of my favorites, and I would love to have them in my garden.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteI am hoping my bush is blooming by the 4th of July (my rose of sharon is pink).
