vintage leather books
collecting silver trophies when I find them at a reasonable price
vintage roe deer antlers
the big antlers are white tail deer antlers
more antlers
dogs
dog and hunt scenes and did I say antlers?
pottery
majolica
ironstone
demijohns
That is just some of my collections. The problem is sometimes you find a new piece and don't know where it is going so usually something old moves out for something new to move in. I know I am not the only person this happens to. Am I?
What do you collect?

You have wonderful collections and I wish I lived closer to you!! I know we would be friends!
ReplyDeleteGreat collections Kim and I love your new look!!
ReplyDeleteVery cool! I collect Stoneware crocks ("Lyons", for the most part), Niagara Falls stuff, and fabric. Lots and lots and lots of fabric.
ReplyDeleteLove all your collections. Always nice to have something to start with when your out looking...then you never know what you'll find. Love your new look. Happy 2012. liz
ReplyDeleteYou have some great collections, Kim. But my fav are the old leather books - drool.....especially the French ones. Linda
ReplyDeleteI think we were poured from the same mould ... and I have the first cousins to your demijohn on the stool!
ReplyDeleteAllison is my neighbor here in the burbs!
Kim, I love yiur collections, especially the antlers. You have a great style and know just how to put things together.
ReplyDeleteI have really only just started to have collections. Crystal would be the main one at present, although I don't have that much of it. I have enjoyed using little crystal dishes to put scorched almonds in over the Christmas holidays! I also seem to be obsessed with vintage style tin signs and cannot help myself when I see them, particularly when they have pastel colours and cupcakes on them!

Those are all great collections Kim.
ReplyDeleteLove your collections and your new blog look...so pretty!
ReplyDeleteDebbie
Kim, there is an entire sisterhood of us collectors. I think for those of us who love the hunt and adding things to our "nest", collecting comes naturally. It's fun to see close up shots of your different collections. You have an eye for knowing how to display your collections so that they become an integral part of your beautiful home. Always a treat! ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteYou have some wonderful collections, Kim. My goal this year is to pare down on my collections..and keep the things I really LOVE! I have WAY too many things- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! Love all of your collections. Wish I had room for lots of them. My boys are STILL sick! Dentist appts have had to be cancelled and Cody cancelled work all week. Cody is broken out ALL over his body! He read somewhere that if you've never had the chicken pox or shingles (etc.) that is when older people get it. Me and Jimmy are immune then since we've had both. They're slowly getting better. It has really done a number on them. I think it's worse the older you are. You wouldn't BELIEVE what Cody looks like. He's too embarrased to even go out anywhere. No sick people allowed around us this year! Ha!
ReplyDeleteSweet collections. Love the dogs. I am a collector of a lot of things myself and always love getting new pieces. Diane
ReplyDeleteThe ironstone is my favorite, you can never go wrong collecting that.
ReplyDeleteKim - I love all your beautiful things, especially your antler collection. I picked some loose antlers up at a flea market in November and also a pair that needs to be mounted. I was able to use them all on my mantel this Christmas, scattered with all the greenery and pheasant feathers. I really liked how they added that bit of rustic-ness I was looking for!
ReplyDeleteI also want to say thanks for all of the inspiration you freely give us and pictures of your lovely home. I always look forward to visiting with you!
I love old books! You have so many lovely things in your home! Happy New year, my friend! ♥
ReplyDeleteKim,

You have some wonderful collections Kim.
ReplyDeleteI really don't collect anything. I did have a rooster collection going, by accident, but now I am whittling away some of them and only keeping my favorites.
You are already fabulous....but a collector too! I love antlers! Thanks for the link to the party! I am off to visit!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeleteCollect - I love, love antique glassware (dessert cups, wine glasses, glasses, bowls). I collect when I can. I also love vintage stationery, or ornate stationery.
Very nice collection. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteYou have some wonderful collections Kim! I like you new look too!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I share all of your loves, but have yet to start dogs, hunt scenes, and antler collections. I have a fairly nice ironstone and transferware stockpile found thrifting and antiquing, and I am eyeballing several roe antlers on ebay right now. I use old books throughout my home too.
ReplyDeleteI am new in blogland, and your beautiful blog has been such an inspiration!
