I want to welcome a new sponsor this month, istencils. Cheri offers a HUGE amount of stencils. She offered me my choice of stencils and here is what I did with one I chose.
I am not the best stenciler in the world by no means, but this really is a quick and easy project.
I just taped it on the board with frog tape.
Then I painted on Annie Sloan chalk paint in Graphite.
Then because I did not want it new and perfect I sanded it to make it worn looking. You can see how the black kind of spread on the board, but that is okay.
Like I said I wanted it worn.

ReplyDeleteI have been wanting some stencils and can't seem to find any in the stores. I just spent 30 minuntes looking around istencils and got boggled so decided I will look more tomorrow. Also checked out their prices vs. others and they are right in the ball park for their larger size. I will probably get some numbers and I think letters too. Just have to figure out the most valuable size to get.

ReplyDeleteI saw your switchplates in a couple of the pictures. I had been wondering if the part where you actually plug into was still white and I can see it is. I'm still working on mine-got some black plates, but haven't tried them yet.

J. Bishop, I don't use this board. It is only for decorative purposes. If I did want to use it I can use the other side.

ReplyDeleteP.S. I lLOVE your cabinet hardware! I almost used that same hardware on ours, but another one surprised me and looked better on our cabinets. Yours are prettier, but I needed something bigger, so size won out in the end.
