Yep, I had to get these stools.
The tomato red ones are what was here before. I do love the stools, but the red was not working for me. Plus, I am getting ready to paint the black and the red would be wrong.
See, what started my yearning for these stools was this. Yes, my sister had these in her house and well, I am a copy cat. I know, the shame of it all.
I love that these are adjustable. The red stools were a little low and really cold to sit on.
These are known as drafting stools. Normally these are used with a drafting desk for architects. I had seen some expensive versions of these, but I found these at World Market for less than $100 each on sale.
I am loving these way more than the red ones or the ones before that.
Now, I need to take the red ones to the consignment store and get some money back.
The first ones already sold.
More of the breakfast room coming soon.
Enjoy your weekend!

Kim you can shoot me in the foot now...because, I knew those red stools were a gonner! I LOVE the new ones. I liked the old/new ones, but you are right the red is not working. I am on the search for new ones myself.
ReplyDeleteKim, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these stools..do you mind if I copy YOU??? I so enjoy your blog and love your decorating skills.
ReplyDeleteDenise
LOVE the stools... but also love the black island, which you are painting?...I know it will look awesome, but I love it black :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the black too, but I'm certain whatever you change to will be equally dramatic and lovely. Definitely LOVE the new stools, the old ones did not look comfy at all.
ReplyDeletexx'sw
Love these stools, the combination of wood and metal is fab! And I just love the shape of the legs!
ReplyDeleteThe red ones were great too, but I can see why you love these!
Kim, I love your new stools. They have a classier look than the red ones. I can see why you went for them. hugs ~lynne~

ReplyDeleteHi, Kim!!
ReplyDeleteI learned not too long ago that we CAN change our minds!!! LOL!!!
There is no shame in that!
And I LOVE the NEW stools!!!!
GREAT CHOICE!!! And the price was good, too!
Have a great weekend!
Man, I am so wanting some stools like your new ones. Hummmm.....Love them!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have two (World Market) and i heart them!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE THOSE STOOLS! Great job and just to let you in on a little secret... I copy cat my sister, too (But don't tell her, k?)
ReplyDeleteI love to go shopping at consignment shops and this is exactly why - the red ones are cuties too!
Thanks for sharing. Jalon
I like these Kim! Seems perfectly normal to copy your sister....doesn't everyone! LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhatever my sister has, I want and whatever I have she wants.
hugs
Sissie
Good move! That sister of yours sure get's you in a lot of trouble!
ReplyDeleteOh I love these! We have those red ones in the silver color and they're perfect....especially because they stack! But these are SO neat looking. I've loved the look for awhile now. Great pick!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE these, Kim. They really fit your counter a lot better...and I love the semi-industrial look of them. Perfect...now go get some money by selling those other ones so you can steal more of your sister's ideas!;>) xo Diana ps...love your sister, too!
ReplyDeleteI am soooo going over to the World Market website tonight! Awesome! Simply awesome stools!
ReplyDeleteThese stools are so neat! They are the perfect touch to your beautiful kitchen. Props to your sister!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the new stools! I think they fit the space nicely and were really reasonable. I'm going to keep those in mind when we remodel our kitchen.
ReplyDeleteGretchen
Why....you....little....copy...cat! Ha! Actually, I warned you about the red color of those stools. I mentioned that eventually you may tire of the red or change your decor. I know...I'm smart like that! I guess it's those good genes we have. Ha! Your new stools look great. I know you will love them. Will complained that the metal ones, we had before, were too cold too. I have not regretted buying my stools for a moment. I knew, instantly, that they were just right. Aren't they great?!
ReplyDeleteLove them Kim!
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteAs much as I loved those read stools I like these even better.I can see why you wanted them. They look amazing. Also looks great in your sisters kitchen.LOVE that lamp she has in there too.
Anne
Those stools are great! I definately prefer them to the red (although the red ones gave a fun vibe!). I have to admit, I love your black island, but everything you do looks great, so I'm sure it will be beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love those Kim and you are just too funny! Cant wait to see what color you are painting the bar!
ReplyDeleteGreat stools Kim. The other were nice but they were too commercial and cold.
ReplyDeleteI remember leaving you a comment telling you I love the red stools. But I'm with you...I love these new ones even more!!! They are terrific!!
ReplyDeleteYep! These are much better! I love them. What color are you painting your island?
ReplyDeleteI love the new stools. I think the fact that they are adjustable is great. I just might have to hop on the copycat wagon. Have a great weekend. Patty
ReplyDeleteLove the newest stools, Kim! Looking forward to seeing the changes.
ReplyDeleteThose stools are perfect for your kitchen Kim ~ they look really great! You got a great deal on them also!!
ReplyDeleteSometimes you just have try different looks until you hit the nail on the head. Love the new stools--they are perfection!
ReplyDeleteKim those are great! Does the height adjust?
ReplyDeleteHi Kimmie! Oh, the stools look wonderful! I love going to your sister's blog too. You two gals have it going on! ;)
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
shelia ;)
Girl, you are crazy...but crazy like a fox, I love those new stools and I'm sure you can sell those red ones in the blink of an eye!
ReplyDeleteKat
Kim these are perfect, love love these in your home!! I don't think you are crazy, you just want your home to look a certain way, Happy weekend,
ReplyDeletekathysue
Kim! I love the industrial touch in your farmhouse kitchen. Those stools are the Bomb! Love it!
ReplyDeleteXO Cindy
I agree, the stools were a definite purchase! I love the industrial touch in your kitchen.
ReplyDeleteKim, I love the new stools! I saw these at World Market too, and really wanted to buy them, but decided that I needed something that had a back and did not swivel. My little guy has been accident prone on barstools in the past. *sigh* I love the way these look in your space!
ReplyDeleteGood move!
xo-Lisa
Love the new stools.....no harm in appreciating your sister's great taste....I think you two share that!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the new stools! They are perfect for your space. Hey, I've always heard that copying is the highest compliment. Both you and your sister have great taste and great minds think alike. I'm always changing my mind.
ReplyDeleteReally like the new stools a lot. While the red ones were pretty cute, I can see why you loved the new stools. They really suit your kitchen.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the new stools! I'm sure whatever you are planning is going to be beautiful as always!
ReplyDeleteAngie :)
I love these! They look industrial, but warm and welcoming at the same time. Great choice.
ReplyDeleteOh I like these better too. They look fabulous and I am sure they are more comfortable. Looks perfect. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteOh I love the new stools! What a great new look! The red stools were never my thing.. love the change Kim!
ReplyDeleteYou are the best... I wish I could change my stools over and over! My husband would kill me!
XO
Jan
I love the wood on those new stools. That and then the "rusty" metal on them....yes, I agree...the red was good, but the new ones less powerful...letting the black on the island take control...very good...
ReplyDeleteNancy
I like the drafting stools. They look great.
ReplyDeleteDon't feel bad, I had 2 carts full of stuff at our new Home Goods that opened today, and don't 'need' a thing. I was never crazy about the red barstools, although they are trendy. The new ones look much better, in my opinion. The red ones would be fun in a game room, though.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you switch things up. I brought out my summer white and green linen pillows for the living room and now the dining room is off (same line of vision) ...so things will be adjusting at my house, too.
ReplyDeleteThose stools are fantastic! If my son see's these ..he will be copying you too!
ReplyDeleteI'm busy changing things too...but then I always am! :)
Well..it's that time of year actually!
Yep..those stools are fantastic!
I have to say I love those stools. I liked the red ones a lot but these are better. Darn I wish we had a World Market. No Home Goods and no World Market...we are so deprived.
ReplyDeletePerfect trade
ReplyDeleteI like these stools so much better than the red ones! And they look more comfortable, too. Can't wait to see all the other changes.
ReplyDeleteI think a girl can change here mind any time she chooses. LOL I love both looks, but am glad they now make you happy. What color is the black going??
ReplyDeleteI love the warmer look of the new stools. Can't wait to see what you're going to be doing with the island.
ReplyDeleteSo much better! Much more you. Love, Me www.youaretalkingtoomuch.com
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful Kim.
ReplyDeleteDee
Hi Kim,
ReplyDeleteIf you don't mind what consignment shop did you take your red stools too? I would love to go there :)
Regina
Absolutely love the new stools!!! Great change...not that the red ones were bad, but these are so much better!
ReplyDeleteHi Regina, hopefully you will come back here to see this since you are a no reply comment blogger and I can't answer by email. I haven't taken them yet, but probably will soon. The consignment shop I use is The Perfect Piece in Suwannee on Peachtree Ind. Blvd right in a strip mall right before McGinnis Ferry Rd. Same strip mall that Chic Fil A is in.
ReplyDeleteIt is a womens choice to change her mind when she feeels the need. I love the new stools. They have charachter. Just beautiful
ReplyDeleteCynthia
Kim, awesome job on the new stools They are so COOL looking and will probably feel good in your space for a long time! Are you painting the black island????
ReplyDeleteThey fooled my eye, I thought for sure they were antiques in great shape. I like the pop of color the red adds, but being the color chicken I am I would opt for the wood and I think they are interesting.
ReplyDelete~Bliss~
Kim,
ReplyDeleteI think you are just trying to keep the consignment store in business! lol! I am with Debbie....I knew the red stools weren't going to last :)
Have a great Saturday,
karianne
Love these. They look great in your kitchen and on sale! Great choice.
ReplyDeleteGreat choice, Kim! These new stools are keepers!
ReplyDeleteIt's so fun to change things up at home, isn't it? My husband used to say he'd come home and have to really look where he set down his coffee cup because the table that was there yesterday would be gone. Sounds like you have the same disease as me! Great stools, Kim.
ReplyDeleteWow, they are GORGEOUS! i couldn't have passed them up either. :)
ReplyDeleteDonna
PS. just mentioned your painting skills in my post today :)
ReplyDeleteI love your new stools, Kim! They are sharp!
ReplyDeleteNow, THESE I like. In fact, if our World Market has them, I am going for 'em....
ReplyDeleteLove !!
I wasn't feeling the love for those red stools. These on the other hand are fabulous. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the change. I thought I loved the red until I saw these. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBTW, forgot to say, I've never tried ASCP. I stopped at a store at the beach, and they no longer distribute it. I guess I'll have to buy it online or drive across Charlotte. Also, I got a Tuesday Morning flyer (sp?) in today's mail and saw that at their Tuesday sale, they are having barstools like your new ones. Maybe you're ahead of the trend! ;o)
ReplyDeleteLove the new stools!!! I like the red ones too but these are much more me :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your new stools-they are darling!! I love red but they were a bit bright and your new ones look fantastic! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, my gosh, those stools are fabulous! I can understand why you are pleased with them. I love the 'bird cage' or maybe more like 'lantern' shape of the base. Another thing I think is particularly pleasing is round, thick wood seats mixed with the metal. The fact that they are adjustable just blows them off the chart. I think they look great againt the black finish of your island. Did I understand correctly you are going to be changing that finish? Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLori
Good decision Kim, I love the stools they have great dimension. Your kitchen looks so inviting...I take my eggs over easy and my bacon crisp LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteOoooh adore them! Beautiful stools can be so hard to find and these are just perfect!
ReplyDeleteI love the red stools because I am a red person, but the new stools are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteIt is funny how you don't know you like something better until you see it! Love these stools.....I am sure the red ones will sell fast!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm in the market for two stools. I must say, I sure do love these!
ReplyDeleteMy son has these stools too, Kim. Love them. xo, Sherry
ReplyDeleteLOVE these new ones, Kim! The red ones were okay but these are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI love that look. A little industrial. I showed those stools to my husband and he was very impressed that you could screw them up to change the height. They could have been purple with polka dots and that would have been what he saw in them.
ReplyDeleteHey, we always reserve the right to change our minds, right! I just sold the sectional that was in my family room for barely over a year. Can't wait to see what color you paint the black cabinets!!!
ReplyDeleteThe new stools are a great choice, Kim! Much warmer and less intrusive. As funky fun as the red ones were, I can see now in the before/after pics that they were a little distracting; whereas these drafting stools "disappear" enough so your eye can wander around the rest of your beautiful kitchen.
