This frame was fine and served its purpose well, but I decided to order a new frame from one of my sponsors.
This frame is a cedar and I love the rustic look of it with the holes on it.
I think the cows are happy with their new duds.
My collection of magnifying glasses. I turned the one with the pretty handle upside down.
This is the nest the Carolina wrens were living in for a short bit. They have flown away and I put the nest in a zip loc bag and placed it in the freezer for several days to kill any mites.
I like the new frame and it seems to fit in this vignette nicely.
If you are in the market for a frame I hope you will look around 5 Dollar Frames and see if you find that perfect one. This large frame was less than $20.
They wrap the frame very well and ship quickly.
Post edit: I have my internet back, finally!!

I love how the frame goes with your boxes, Kim. The whole vignette is so pretty. Love the magnifying glasses displayed together.

ReplyDeletehope your internet get fixed today! Ryan said you can take your laptop and connect it wifi from places like panera, bread company and such. you can call him for help.
ReplyDeleteGreat vignette, Kim!

The frame is so important. We have many things (art, documents, family pieces) custom framed just to make sure we get the exact look we want. One thing I have learned about is museum glass. It doesnt even look like there is a piece of glass in the frame.
ReplyDeleteLove the vignette - but I like the color of the first frame better. I need to check out your sponsor!

Beautiful and serene vignette Kim.. I like that a lot.
ReplyDeleteThe frame looks good and I love your collection of magnifying glasses. Hope you have a good week...Connie
ReplyDeleteOkay....there is so much to take in with this post. (1) That there are $5.00 frames that are that cute. (2) That you should put a nest in a freezer to get rid of mites. (3) When I look at your picture....it makes me smile!
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed and awesome day!

Good tip on the nest! My MIL is waiting for all the birds to leave the nest and then she will save it for me. I will have to tell her this! Glad you got your internet back!
ReplyDeleteI saw a wren's nest just yesterday. There were 4 baby birds but I think I'll go back in a couple weeks to gather the nest if it's still there. Thanks for the inspiration!

That new frame really does look better! It looks richer and accents that table perfectly. So glad that your internet is back up now. I told Jimmy you used AT&T and he said it was no wonder your internet service was down. We used to use them and had so many problems with poor connections that we left them for Comcast.
ReplyDeleteLovely vignette Kim and I love the new frame, it's so fitting for that print!
ReplyDeleteThe texture of the frame fits the painting perfectly. Love rustic! I didn't know that was a way to kill mites in bird nests. Learn something new every day.

I like the new frame a lot! It's those kind of details that make so much difference!
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing the difference a new frame can make. We currently have a sweet little wren sitting on her eggs in a wall hanger on our back porch. Good tip about freezing the nest!
ReplyDeleteThe cows look happy with their new look:) Great tip about the bird nest in the freezer, I didn't know that trick.
ReplyDeleteThis is Melissa @ http://daisymaebelle.com Love this new frame! I am on the look-out for a great cow picture. And, I love the nest! I have them all over my house!

ReplyDeleteLove the new frame...the texture is great!....Always enjoy seeing your beautiful vignettes..Glad you have your internet back...Finally!!! Yay!
ReplyDeleteThere are 6 empty birds nests in my yard...I was going to spray them, but i like the idea of freezing it rather than using pesticides...great idea Kim!
I like it and the boxes very much Kim. Framing is insanely expensive these days. I recently had CC's college diploma framed and it was nuts even with a coupon at Michaels.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim: Frame looks good, just like it was made for the picture. You can also spray your nest with hairspray and it will last a long time. I have one from 15 years ago still in good shape..Happy Monday..Judy
ReplyDeleteYea, for internet! It can drive you crazy when it is down. The new frame goes perfectly with your other wooden items. Excellent choice! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteamazing the difference the new frame makes. It's perfect for the print!
ReplyDeleteThat frame was just made for that print!
ReplyDeleteA great frame really does make all the difference! And I adore your magnifying glass collection (oh no, I may need to start searching for these too)!

Hi Kim,
ReplyDeleteI did like your original frame, but think your new one really works the best with your vignette; which by the way, I'm a little envious of. *blush* : ) I'd love if you'd link it to my Frugal Treasures Tuesday party. Thanks for sharing and the freezing the nest tip; wouldn't have crossed my mind. *_*

A beautiful arrangement! The cows are certainly much happier - lol! I had to smile at this vignette, as we share the same tastes. I have a table with a similar magnifying glass and wooden box at home - it's funny how things seem to go together so naturally!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes from England,

What a difference a frame makes!!! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThe new frame is perfect Kim. I absolutely love this vignette!
ReplyDeleteI'm in the market for a frame. Thanks so much for the info.
the right frame really does make all the difference. Love it! If the magnifying glasses are missing in the morning, don't blame me. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the frame a lot, and I love those boxes too.
ReplyDeleteLove the boxes and the frame is very pretty. Great vignette.

I have been snapping up white frames for the wall wherever I can find them in order to create a picture gallery in the dining room. Thank you for bringing my attention to a new source. Your frame is the perfect backdrop (with the picture) for the vignette you have created.
ReplyDeleteI love how you have everything arranged on that table! I love the color of the boxes and the nest is the perfect addition! I also love the magnifying glasses in that cute crock jar. I always keep my eye open for them when I go out shopping, but have never found any cool old ones. I also love your cow print in its new frame. I think your vignette looks magazine worthy!
ReplyDeleteYour new frame is so beautiful.....and the print looks just perfect in it too! Beautiful vignette.....

Hi Kim! The frame makes a huge difference...always!
ReplyDeleteI have been looking for a cow print. Where did you find yours? Any suggestions on where to find one that might be a little more vintage looking, too? Thanks.

I love this rustic frame! It's amazing how much of a difference a frame can make. Love your cow print. Thanks for sharing... I will definitely remember this the next time I'm searching for the perfect frame.
ReplyDeleteI like that new frame...and love the cow picture.
ReplyDeleteI've been wondering how people were using bird nests when my mom told me a hundred years ago that they had mites. Now, thanks to you, I MIGHT go try to find a nest to use. See, you CAN teach an old dog new tricks. :))
Kim, it was so great to get to meet you! I just love this beautiful vignette. The warmth of the wood and that sweet wrens nest are just beautiful! Smart idea about the freezer. I love to collect nests I find so I'll have to remember that trick. :)
ReplyDeleteI love those 2 wooden boxes - it is fun to create layered vignettes with boxes.
ReplyDeleteKim, I like the new frame and the entire vignette is beautiful! Thanks for joining the Open House party.
